I've set up an application on Facebook: Published Authors Forum

On my developers page, there is a link to some sample code:

When I click on the link it brings up ths code:

Quick Creation Guide for 'Published Authors Forum'
Follow the simple steps below to create a working skeleton for your Application.

Step 1: Download Facebook's PHP Library
Extract this archive into a directory on your hosting server where you can host and run PHP code:

$ curl -L http://github.com/facebook/php-sdk/tarball/master | tar xvz
$ mv facebook-php-sdk-* facebook-php-sdk
$ cp facebook-php-sdk/examples/example.php index.php

Step 2: Replace the IDs in index.php to have your own app information
It should look like this when you've finished:

Head over to your Canvas Page URL to test your application: https://apps.facebook.com/publishedauthors/

How do I use this code? Is the application working okay, as is, without this code?

I have 9 monthly users and 3 actual users showing and will soon be able to add the application to the directory. Do I need to do anythig else before I add the application to the directory?

I don't know the answer to the question sorry, but yes, this is the right category as its a script problem...

I see that your new to forumotion help forum, therefore, I'll take this opportunity to explain why you may receive a reminder from a moderator, one of the forumotion rules is that your not allowed to double/triple post within 24 hours...

Disclaimer: I am not moderating this persons post, I am simply explaining why a moderator may issue her with a reminder so that she understands and doesn't get into further trouble.

Thanks Adam! The application has enough users to be added to the directory. I submitted the application and it is awaiting approval.

PHP with Forumotion forums don't work. This would be one of the reasons.

Yes. It was approved today and is now listed in the directory:

If you click on the "recently added" button, you wll see the application at the top of the list.

I followed Typlo's instructions and set up the application. It doesn't appear when I click on a tab but it does work on the application page. I haven't set up a "skeleton" so I guess that's the reason it doesn't have a frame to load onto a tab. You can test this yourself by adding the application to your home page and then adding the tab to your wall.

The tab still isn't working ... but maybe it's a glitch at Facebook's end. I'll keep testing it. If anyone else has set up a Facebook Connect application, I would be interested to see a tab that works!

What tab? Are you trying to display the forum on Facebook? If so. this isn't our area of support.

The application is working well. Facebook members can add the application to their home page (left column) and are given the option to add a tab to the wall on their profile page. You can see the tab on the application fan page:

If you click on the "PublishedAuthors" tab on the wall, the application does not load. If you click on the "Go to application" button, the application (forum) can be viewed here:

I am trying to follow what you did to add this to your facebook account. I am also a published author w/ a Christian forum.

Would love to figure out what you did and add my forum to my Facebook account.

Though when I go to your FB page, nothing shows under the Published Author App....Though if I click on the App button to the left I am taken your forum...
