How to limit membership using email address as filter

Hi everyone, as a newbie to forum hosting I am wondering if there is a way of restricting the membership of my forum by using potential members email address as a filter eg only allow people whose email address end with xyz.com or similar.

but you can make the account activation by Admin.. and then you see the members emails and active them or refuse (:
