Please help. How do I ban people?

Hi. I am new at having a public forum. My other forum is private so I don't get a lot of spam messages there. Now that I have a public forum I got my first spammer today. I need to know the steps on how to get rid of them. Thank you.

A-CP => Users & Groups => Users >> Ban Control >> Ban a user // Ban an e-mail address // Ban an IP address

2 ways...
1. ACP > Users and Groups > Ban Control > Choose username
2. Forum > Memberlist > Find and click on user to ban > Bottom of their profile will be 'Ban this member'. Click that.
