Disallow [img] bbcode in signatures

Post by invisible_fa on November 25th 2010, 1:56 pm

Hello.

My suggestion today is to have an Admin Panel Option wich disallow the bbcodes in signatures, so users will can fill signature field with text but not with images, because sometimes users abuse putting huge images on their signatures.

Yeah, I know we have a code to resize images in signatures, but this feature of disabling the img bbcode in signature would be easier.

This option would be optional, of course.

What do you think about this idea? Express yourself but, about all, dont forget to vote! jocolor

Hello.

I think you didnt undestood my suggestion.

I know we can disallow signatures and bbcode, but, what Im suggesting to do is to allow Admin to set prohibition of images in the signature, only disallow img bbcode, not all bbcodes or either disallow completely signatures.

So members will can have a signature, but without images, for avoid users to abuse of huge images Wink

We need the ability through the ACP to disable [IMG][/IMG], [URL][/URL], and HTML in signatures, but still have these options enabled for posts.

Voted YES.

It should be noted that disabling these options in signatures can be done through advanced javascript, and the ability to think outside the box. Very Happy

A lot of stuff can be done with JavaScript Dion, we understand this. Razz

Just a little more simple this way. Smile

You MIGHT understand this, but most people don't. That's obvious based on the number of suggestions made here that are already possible through javascript. Friend request and visitor message notifications? No problem! I can provide links to forumotion boards that have these features. But I won't, because I'd probably be banned for doing the exact thing I see others (eg, RoNo) do all the time...

I agree. That's why I specifically stated we need this ability through the ACP. Razz
