WYSIWYG not working

Post by matt_m on November 30th 2010, 9:43 am

Hi

On my forum, the WYSIWYG editor is not working. If I use it, after I submit the post all I get is a load of HTML tags inbetween my text.

That's strange, HTML wasn't enabled in my admin panel/profile, have just enabled it and now the WYSIWYG editor is working fine, BUT I didn't turn off HTML myself and nobody else on my forum has access to admin panel except me Confused . WYSIWYG was working fine yesterday and today it suddenly stopped working but I have changed no settings for weeks!

No, they didn't. And actually I know they didn't because I have worked out that the issue is still there.

Right, I have never had HTML enabled on my forum, and the WYSIWYG editor has always worked until now. So what has happened?

I have now enabled HTML in my admin panel AND profile, and yes it works for me, BUT for everyone that does not have HTML enabled in their profile, they only see the post with HTML tags.

This never happened before, WYSIWYG used to work for EVERYONE, regardless of their profile/the admin settings.

Help please!

Well its possibly because you copy pasted stuff from some random website, which had html as the content.

If you just copy links etc from the forum, it comes out as bbcode.

Do you get what i am trying to say?

Not really Confused I have no HTML codes on my site. No scripts or anything added.

This used to work fine regardless of whether HTML was enabled in everybody's profile or not, and regardless of whether HTML was enabled in the admin panel. I always used to have HTML disabled but WYSIWYG editing still worked fine.

Now, I type a post using the WYSIWYG editor, and it looks fine as I'm typing it but after the post is submitted, all I get is a post with a load of HTML tags in it.

There must be something wrong as it's only doing this in recent times, and is still not resolved.

Help please!

Hey Matt,

Could I ask exactly what tags are showing up?

I do agree with you, the WYSIWYG should work, even with HTML Disabled What the fuck ?!?
