Use a .cur or .ani to change cursor?

Post by MyPwny on December 4th 2010, 3:52 am

I've tried pretty much EVERY script I could find from google and none of them work. I'm trying to change the cursor on my forum to an animated file. I tried it with an ico file and it worked but I really need help to make it work with a .cur or .ani file or even a .gif if it works. The files are here:

http://www.fileden.com/files/2010/12/3/3029649/cursor.cur
http://www.fileden.com/files/2010/12/3/3029649/cursor.ani

I didn't know whether to post this here or in the script problems section so please don't flame me for that. Can someone give me a script that works to change the cursor on my forum with a .cur or .ani file? I've tried messing with the CSS and the site description thing with 10000000 different scripts but none of them seemed to work Razz Also is there a better site to upload the photos? I hate fileden and imageshack doesn't accept .cur or .ani files.

Try this code in your CSS:
ACP - Display - Colors - CSS Stylesheet:
Code:

body {

        cursor: url(http://www.fileden.com/files/2010/12/3/3029649/cursor.cur), auto; } A { cursor: url(LINKS HOVER CURSOR), url(http://www.fileden.com/files/2010/12/3/3029649/cursor.cur), auto; }

IF you have another cursor for link add it where it says: "LINKS HOVER CURSOR"

Anyway to reset the CSS? There were some codes there accidentally overwrote them. Didn't seem to work though the first try, I copy and pasted that line after this for example:

random codes here
}
body {

cursor: url(http://www.fileden.com/files/2010/12/3/3029649/cursor.cur), auto; } A { cursor: url(LINKS HOVER CURSOR), url(http://www.fileden.com/files/2010/12/3/3029649/cursor.cur), auto; }

is that where it's supposed to be placed? I placed it after the last line

Nope still nothing, even changed the theme also to try, can you try?
cursortest.canadian-forum.com

Content Removed.

maybe if you try the .ani file? Could it be where it's uploaded? When you click the links in my first post it goes to a download page, shouldn't it show the cursor like an image? I have no clue :S
