footer chatbars

Post by QBcrusher on December 12th 2010, 2:36 am

so far i have tried 2 chatbars for my footer on my site- so people can chat with eachother. Well, im starting to think the problem isnt the chatbar but maybe the compatibility of forummotion.

anyways, when you type a message on the client, it doesnt show up as you are typing it. but when u send the message, u can see it. it isnt a MAJOR problem but i think that will mess alot of people up that arent very good typers. does anyone else have this problem or know a fix for it? please and thankyou!

ps. i have used http://presencebar.com and www.wibiya.com

Are you sure you are putting the code in the CSS?

Ohhhh, that is not going to work. Wibiya runs on JavaScript, which is not usable in the HTML and DIV templates. Go to;

ACP => Display => Colors => CSS Stylesheet and enter code in there Smile .

<script src="http://cdn.wibiya.com/Toolbars/dir_0656/Toolbar_656582/Loader_656582.js" type="text/javascript"></script><noscript><a href="http://www.wibiya.com/">Web Toolbar by Wibiya</a></noscript>

^^Here is my code, and it says this when i submit it:

CSS updated successfully.
Note :
Html tags generate errors in style sheets.
A correction has been made to delete html tags that you typed in the style sheet.

The correction is that it completely removes the code i just put in.

Well i can tell you now wibiya do not mix well at with forumotion.. it will always conflict with something else.

And they do not work on IE so only members with firefox,Google chrome and flock will be able to see and use it.May be other browsers.. i think IE may work on certain versions not sure. But it always seems that people that use wibiya on forumotion have noting but problems one way or another.

Anyway that being said, the code will not work in the css, i placed it in the forums description and all seems to be working ok. although it made all of my text on the forum like 3 times bigger then it was and is also not even showing on IE for me.On firefox it shows and works fine.
As far as the chat as soon as i logged into facebook it worked ok.
So you can try it out.

Admin panel>general>configuration

Place the code in your Site description and see if works for you any better there.
