Solved Header Pixel Size

Post by MADBIKER1960 December 15th 2010, 4:19 am

I want to change the header on my site, problem is when I upload a picture and preview it, it is twice as big as the page.
What are the maximum settings for the header?

You can not pick and choose who you get support from.
Staff are not employed by forumotion, they are volunteers. Bare this in mind before you insult members of the community which you are very new to.

Greetings;
Your first reply to me was:
The exact limit is version/theme specific.

Can i please have a link to the banner and your forum.

~ Tilum

First off I don't give out links to members who may be offering help, and for you to ask for it raises alarm bells. Excuse me, but you insulted my intelligence first by asking me for a link to my forum, why would I give you a link to my forum?
You do not need a link to my forum to offer help, knowing the style of forum I use is plenty for you to work with. In fact it is all you need. PERIOD.
Do I come off as stupid to you?

You then replied:

Yeah I can, your right I am new around here and until I get to know the people around here staff are the only ones I will listen to.
I definitely won't listen to someone asking me for a link to my site or for that matter a link to the header I want to use.
That statement just sets off so many alarm bells it isn't even funny.
Your insulted? Too bad, ask the right questions without trying to be invasive.
Had you simply asked what theme version did you use, I might of put it down.

But to ask for a link to the banner and the forum no that is just plain wrong.

Thanks.Mr. Green

You will not make it that far with that attitude Evil or Very Mad . No wonder your username is Madbiker. You either accept our help or look elsewhere.

Also, in order to gain support, you need to provide a link to the forum to prove its ForuMotion legibility. So, your choice.

  • Accept our help
  • Look somewhere else (not recommended)

No, it isn't, where you got that forum from I have no idea. It isn't the one in my profile.

I have figured out how to change my header, successfully.
It has and will be a learning experience.
I am now finding out the theme I chose has black backgrounds everywhere and black text and as a result, I am having to find each and every individual cell and block to change the configuration.

I was under the impression that these themes were already to use with a few simple adjustments.
Had I known I was going to have to go into full editorial mode on them, I would of created a site from scratch my self which is basically what I am doing with these pre packaged ones.

Lovely just lovely.

What have I got myself in to.

ARGH!

Themes are not approved on HitSkin. It is up to you to pick a theme which is good and that works. There are some very unique and professional themes on HitSkin, you've just got to look for them. Are there any other problems that you are having with your forum that i can help with?

If by italic text you think that is hard, think outside the box, CSS and HTML is really good. Smile
