It costs 1600 Forumotion credits ( around 15 Euros or 26 australian dollars of less )
You can purchase it from your Admin panel > Misc > Buy/obtain credits

You will have to delete the domain by contacting Typlo and get a new one.

It's "taken" for the remainder for the 12 months that it has been purchased for, until that time is up, it's in reserve.

I use fatcow which looks nothing like that.

Here are my options at fatcow.

Domain Central
Domain CentralAdd Registered Domain to Account
Domain Pointing Manager
Registrar Transfer
or
sub domaine pointing manager.

Walk you through what?

Go to fatcow.com, create a CNAME record which points to your forum's current address (there should be some sort of DNS stuff).
Then go to your forum...
ACP > General > Forum Address > Personalized domain name.

Then follow the steps.

Done.

A CNAME is a record which is textual. You don't need an IP (that's for an A record). Simply have the source as your personal domain, and the destination as the forum's domain (http://example.forumotion.com/). Due to DNS propagation times, it might not work for a few hours (or a few minutes - give or take), so wait for a while.
