Banning Question
If I ban a member for a short period, will they still be able to access the forum to read posts or will they not be able to log on at all during the banning period?
Also, will they get an automatic email advising of their banning or do I need to send one?
Thanks

Re: Banning Question
Depends on what you are trying to ban. Banning an IP, Email Ban or Banning of an account.

Re: Banning Question
I want to be able to ban an account - stop it being used / posts made / forum participation - for a short period of time.
We have a member who is a nuisance and are reluctant to delete permanently. Just a 'time-out' from the forum and group discussion might rectify the problem.
Is this possible? Thanks

Re: Banning Question
You can give him a temporary ban & you fill in the reason, when they try to log on they will see the message that they are banned & your reason. I do not think they get a message at all when un banned. I think it may be possible to make so that he has just view only & cannot post.
