Solved Moderation Powers

Post by Star Blade December 19th 2010, 4:15 am

I am aware of the regulation that members must be 13 or older before they may become admins or moderators, but may they have moderation powers for a forum category if they are under 13? (Example: if they have a group on our forum and want to moderate the forum which contains their club) In other words, giving them limited moderation powers.

Sorry if I'm mistaken here because I didn't memorize the TOS, but I think its allowed to give moderation powers to anyone, I don't know such rules that prohibit this.

No, there are no rules prohibiting this.

This DOES apply for this board though.

There's stuff with COPPA and such that makes everything iffy, and I read a topic somewhere that said admins and mods had to be 13, so that's why I'm making sure.

That's for admins though. I take it then, that regulations differ for moderators. I thought I found another topic, but I must be mistaken.

What Nessa said:
You must be 13 yrs old or older to be admin of a forum, Any younger and it is a violation of Forumotions TOS. Such members can be reported to Forumotion and their forums removed.

I think that's only for the admins but for mods, I think they're allowed. I don't see anything prohibiting them from the TOS.
