Delete Personal Widgets

Over time i have collected a huge amount of widgets that i don't use anymore, and they clog up the view and it's becoming hard to see and find widgets that are newly made. I have tried to grab and drag a widget over the basket icon, but nothing happens, it just flops back to its original place.

My question is how do i delete widgets from the list??
