Groups question Empty Groups question

I have an Important question...

I created a group titled GUESTS.I'm putting all new registrations(newbies) in this group,hoping they can ONLY
post under Introductions,once they do,then they will be put in FRIENDS Group where they than can post anywhere.
Is this possible? Because I looked under permissions under GUESTS Group and every box has a check mark,I DON'T want this.
HELP PLEASE!!!!

ok I did that I have where members can view read reply but when I put checks for members,it automatically puts checks under GUESTS Group.

But was does "join file" under permissions mean?
