weird online users traffic
Online users on my forum are increasing!
Online users were 18 few seconds ago and now are 211 from the whole world and continue to increase!
My forum hadn't had so many visitors before! The number is changing! Now is 261! No! Now is 262!
What's happened? They are not the real statistics! Please! Help! Is it virus?

Re: weird online users traffic
It is a good thing. You want that traffic to your forum! I hope your forum does well and continue to gain members

Re: weird online users traffic
This has happened to me today as well.
I was one min at 22 members online then it shot up to 274 members in less than 10 mins.
I ran traces on all the Ip address and most came from chins, germany,UK, only maybe 10% of them were my members/ from the US
Whats causing this, i know its not traffic coming to the forum

Are they joining or are just guests? That happened to me one time also but they were guests.

Re: weird online users traffic
Some might just be spider bots collecting information on the forum and some might be guests, I don't think you need to worry about this.

Re: weird online users traffic
Hi,
I concur - If your registered with Google Adwords, or any other sort of promotional sites (Yahoo, Dmoz, Bing, google alexa ect), you might find they are sending many bots onto your forum - It's happened as a temporary issue on their end.
If anything, you shouldn't worry, but what does strike me is the subtle increase of guests (22 - 207)
I'll do some further research about this, and get back to you
