Solved Remove Space Between Nav Buttons??

Post by Guest December 23rd 2010, 9:18 pm

So apparently my need of assistance with the question went un-noticed in this topic: Click here.

I clearly asked that I needed help with it too and then I was asked if I needed help? Then the topic was closed for being solved? With absolutely no answer to the question of the topic in the thread. Smh.

Anyways, I want to figure out how to remove the space between the NAV buttons on Invision. Any help? Please don't take 3249832749234 months to answer this question if you know the answer..

That did not work for me, the buttons didnt even more, no matter how much I adjusted the "-5". I even put it on -500 to be dramatic and it still showed no change.

The topic was locked and marked solved because Yakko started the thread and said it was solved.to tell you the truth i was more side tracked by the whole thread and whether i was going to give Cool-processor a warning for talking nonsense,going off topic and spamming with something that had absolutely nothing to do with the thread.So i apologize for not noticing your request.

There is no need to start getting all bitter, bent out of shap, and posting things like we are ignoring you or dont care.All you had to do was send me a pm and say Kirk in this thread over here you locked this but i still needed some help with it, can you please have a look and unlock the thread so i can get some help with this problem.

or something like that.

So what ever. Remove Space Between Nav Buttons?? Mouais

Anyway i need to see a screen shot, i used to do nave bar stuff like that different then useing css..So i will need to see a screen shot on exactly what you want to see if i can help that way. if not then we will have to do it another way through css. i am not the best when it comes to css, but dose not necessarily mean i wont be able to help with it.

Since you already started this thread we will just continue it here and leave the other locked.

post your css to if you can.

I didn't meant to seem bitter, however, since I joined this forum i've always felt...out of place & unwelcomed. I was ganged up on, had my warning lowered for retaliation and even had it lowered for double posting in reply to somebody that was helping me with a problem, it was a clear mistake and was never excused. I lost privileges forever to have an avatar because my forums URL was on the first avatar I ever had. It always usually takes days/weeks/months for some of my problems to gain support and receive some help. I've even once attempted to PM staff and I was told "we don't provide support via PM", even though I clearly gave a link to a topic I needed help with, which is why I don't even bother PM-ing anyone anymore. With the exception of you and probably 2 others, no other staff member has really seemed to give a **** about the support of the members, just the policing aspect of being on staff. But anyways...back on topic I suppose..

Here is my test forum link: http://the-en.editboard.com
Here is my CSS link: http://the-en.editboard.com/70-ltr.css?pop=1
Here is a screen shot:
Remove Space Between Nav Buttons?? En_tes10

Other things to know: For some some reason, the user groups nav cannot be removed, i made the image invisible, but the link is still there for me to click, I made it hidden for guest, members and mods, but admins can still click an invisible "user groups" link on the nav menu. my ACP doesn't allow me to make it invisible for myself, like it does with phpBB3. heres a screen shot of what I mean:
Remove Space Between Nav Buttons?? En_tes11

Remove Space Between Nav Buttons?? En_tes12

The image above indicates the User Groups nav button has not been entirely removed from the nav bar. How can I get rid of this?

If it makes you feel any better, my ability to send/receive PMs was removed for asking a member to contact me via PM. I do agree that moderation here is "police first, ask questions later".

Anyway, you provided a URL for your board, so I can help. Add this to your CSS:
Code:
#submenu ul li a {margin: 0px; padding: 0px;}
And this will remove the usergroups button:
Code:
#submenu ul li a[href="/groups"] {display: none;}

  • Dion, at times I wonder why you are not a staff member on this forum. You always provide great help, thank you for that.
  • Kirk, Dion beat you to the punch, but I appreciate your response to help me with this issue. I will take you up on that offer and PM you if I need help with something else.
This topic is solved now! Merry Xmas! Very Happy
