Solved Forum Index Questions

Post by Xanthis on December 29th 2010, 2:27 am

The top highlighted portion of this image is a box with the words "Forum," "Topics," "Posts," and "Last Posts".
Is it possible to change the words inside that row?

Secondly, I was wondering if you can change the size of the title of a forum, in this case; "Gaming," because even with a description there's a lot of needless empty space in that column.

i bet i can change them..... hehe. (just kidding Darren) Smile

I am not sure?It actually may be posibil to do it in the index body template?

info added

looks like it would be in (index box home page categories list) template

Code:
       <th colspan="{catrow.tablehead.INC_SPAN}" nowrap="nowrap" width="100%" class="secondarytitle">{catrow.tablehead.L_FORUM}</th>
      <th nowrap="nowrap" width="50">{L_TOPICS}</th>
      <th nowrap="nowrap" width="50">{L_POSTS}</th>
      <th nowrap="nowrap" width="150"><div style="width:150px;">{L_LASTPOST}</div></th>

i am testing it now Smile

info added again

oh yeah it works... lol
look i did

This That And Whatever

i just changed this
Code:
                                                                    <th class="tcl">{L_FORUM}</th>
                  <th class="tc2">{L_TOPICS}</th>
                  <th class="tc3">{L_POSTS}</th>
                  <th class="tcr">{L_LASTPOST}</th>

to this, click save then go back and publish
Of course you can name them whatyou want Smile
Code:
                   <th class="tcl">This</th>
                  <th class="tc2">That</th>
                  <th class="tc3">And</th>
                  <th class="tcr">Whatever</th>

preveiw on my test forum
http://tesing123kirk.freeforum.me.uk/forum

you will see this start al the way on the left.

hey you know what you can probly replace that with small images to, gif flash etc..

i just noticed?
why is the empty space large text in that forums description outlined in red?
di you want something in there?

Kirk, me = That's so obvious, I don't know why I didn't think of that! TT
This code should be letter for letter on PunBB, even though kirk has placed the PHPBB2 code it's still the exact same Smile

You could prob increase the size of the font by the template too, I'd assume it would go on font-size=32px rather than <SIZE=32> ...

P.S. Thats why ur in the uni course for comp. science and not me lol Razz

The column labels were modified perfectly, thanks.

As for the forum title however, I went to: General > Categories and forums > "Gaming" > Modify > Forum name > "<size=34>Gaming</size>," then I refreshed the index and nothing changed. Is there a way to change it from the templates?
