php single quote problem Empty php single quote problem

I am calling a value from a database and putting it into a textbox on an edit details page and in the last name field the is a user who's last name is "O'Neill" but in the text box only "O" appears... how can i get the who thing to appear...? Anyone can help me with this single PHP quote display problem?
