Solved Avatar Image Overlapping Post For Some Members

Post by starwarslunatic on January 15th 2011, 6:32 am

Recently I created some 250x250 pixel avatar templates to use on my roleplaying community's forums. Initially, when I checked the posts to see the avatar pic, I noticed that the image was overlapping the post. I found a solution to change in the CCS and thought that solved the issue.

The next day, one of our members checked and started having the same problem, followed by a few other members reportedly having the same overlap issues.

My main browser is FireFox and the majority of the reported cases of the overlap issue have been IE. I have tried the clearing the cache trick, but the problem still lingers. Is there something I am missing or a fix I can make so that everybody can see the avatars the same way?

My forum uses a phpbb3 template.

Here is the link to the forums.

Here is the screenshot of the issue that some of my members reported.

So I've determined that this issue is caused by the user's screen resolution.

My new question would be: Is there a way to expand the width of my post area on the forums so that everything isn't so squished together?

Resolved this issue by adjusting the right column width to 0px, thus spreading the posting area to compensate for larger avatar images and having less "squish" at lesser resolutions.

May I remind you that double/triple posting isn't tolerated unless separated by 24 hours (Use the edit button) Wink
