A huge misuse of powers

Post by Z on January 22nd 2011, 4:38 pm

i have found out that our admin "Nave I" was the one who was responsible for the forum hack and for many members to be banned. [img][/img]

what do i need to do in order to make him pay for what he did?

I can tell right now how the image was edited. He used a javascript code to edit the links. You can tell this because of the underlined IP address and the usernames.

yeah, it was edited.
i edited my post since my suspicions are now confirmed.

what do i need to do?
he has the founder's password and his normal admin password, and if i will try to remove his "Nave I" user from administrator's group, he will delete, i believe the entire forum since he doesn't even care about the community

I wonder if he changed the founder details, like the username and password. You can try the Utils tool to edit the founder account.

i"m not the founder, so it won't help me...
this is really serious, he removed our admin powers and perma banned people.

i would never tolerate an abuse when it comes to our moderators and i always tells a new admin that he is now an example to all the forum... i have done a few mistakes myself, but not at this proportion!

I didn't know you weren't the founder. If he removed your admin powers, you can't really do anything on your side. You could try to PM Typlo about the problem. But he is away for the weekends.

no i mean, he gave me back my admin powers (which was a mistake by his side, since now i know of his scheme).

i will send a pm to Typlo after the weekends ends, but if someone has a better idea, i"m open for suggestions.

you can try backing it up to a date before the hack via the forum utilities...

thank you, but i"m not the founder of that forum.
the founder himself hasn't visit for 2 years now, so the solution you have proposed is not good for me.

Then you are going to have to wait until Monday for Typlo(That is if he reads your PM) to do something. He can brute force his way in and fix things. But that is the only way.
