Adding a report button in the nav bar

I've recently added a report button in the nav bar, only visible to moderators and up, that links to the report page. This report button is stationary though, and will always be there.

I've heard though, that there was a possibility to make the button to only appear whenever a NEW (unread) report is made. so when there's no new report, the button won't show up on the mod's navbar.


I personally would love this feature, and want to ask: Does anyone know how to do this?
