Deleting Gallery Backup Folder

Post by Gimpy Cat on January 26th 2011, 12:41 pm

Hi,

Im just wondering how to delete the back up folder for my forums gallery. Searching on here I found some information and I signed into servmig as the founder using the original email and passwords from when the forum was created as suggested. The gallery backup folder is not in this acct. Id like to delete all the images, its 64pages long.

Also, do the pictures stored in the backup count towards storage space use?

Thanks in advance

Good questions but I don't have the answers. Sad Well, there seems to be no way to delete photos in the backup folder anyway. I thought there used to be, but I think something got changed awhile back. It sure would be nice to have controls for the backup folder!

Bummer, I hope thats not the case. I keep wondering if its sucking up my storage space, its 64 pages at least and thats a fair whack. Hope someone can at least answer the storage question

You should be able to see in the administration panel if it is using any storage space.

P.S. I deleted my account when I did that all images were gone.

SLG it doesnt who in the admin panel when you look under the gallery storage space but I wondered if it wouldnt as its not technically gallery space, back up being more forum itself (if I make sense which I frequently dont LOL)

What do you mean when you deleted your acct all images were gone? What acct did you delete? I need the admins servimg acct as I change the background display pic on the forum monthly and feature the work of a member and of course thats done via servimg

Cheers

That was the first thing I did Mr Mario, I searched on here for topics about it first, found one instructing to log onto servmig using the forum email adn password used when it was originally set up. I did that and the only images in the servmig acct were the images Id uploaded to use for new background display images. I deleted them but it says there are no other images in the acct now so I dont know where to find hte backup folder to delete it.

Do you know if its using my storage space too?

Thanks

PS I will be away a couple of days will answer any reply as soon as I get back

SOLVED!

Hi, I have been wondering how to delete the photos in the backup folder also and I've figured it out!

First, go to your administrator panel and create a new category for the gallery. Name it anything, doesn't matter.

Now, go back to the gallery backup folder and restore all the photos to the category you just created.

Then, go back to the administrator panel and delete the category.

All of the images in it will be permanently deleted.
