set a password on the website?
Hi!
I have just created a forum using this website. I must say that im really impressed by the result and the simplicity.
But one thing i want to know is... is it possible to set a password before entering my forum. For now i dont want anyone to be able to enter my forum yet. I have seen some websites that can invite other people or give a password of which you can type in to enter the website forum. I haven't seen any guides yet about this matters. Searching for "password protection" gives me only results of "password loss".
Can someone help me with this?
Regards Johan

Re: set a password on the website?
Hello johanhallo,
It currently not possible to completely password protect your forum, but you can put in into a mode called "Holiday Mode" which essentially stops anyone from accessing your forum except for administrators. During this time, you are able to edit your forum accordingly. To put it into Holiday Mode, please go to:
1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. General Tab
3. Configuration (on the left, under Forum)
4. Select "Forum on holiday : Yes"
5. Hit Save
You can also use Construction Mode. However, that will only close the forum for a day.
Alternatively, you can use a code to password protect forum your forum by checking out this article: https://help.forumotion.com/t76762-users-tuesday-tip-create-password-protected-forum-by-master-marc

Re: set a password on the website?
you can also find scripts on google for it.. but this is something that would have to be added to the template.. so you would have to be using phpbb2 or punbb versions in order to do it.
