Nice redirect effect. I was going to use forms but I said, what the heck, give them a prompt.

To be honest, I was a little lazy when I wrote the script and refused to make another tutorial for forms that does the same thing, lol.

I might have a pre-made script on my test forum, with form HTML password protection, for people to enter passwords & user names, etc...

Yes!

On an HTML page. Give the member a link to the HTML page and hide the forum that you want hidden.

Actually I had something very similar to this script but it is extremely easy to see a loophole, therefore I got rid of the script. xD

Prompt for what while it's not necessary. Just fill the form and enter, that's it. Simple the best!

You don't need a second html page.

Can't the password be retrieved by checking the page source? Sounds a bit risky to me. _._

That's JavaScript.

We don't have access to our htaccess file, so we can't make a good secure password protect forum, TT

Don't worry! Now just try to view this page source, can you see the password? Smile

Pretty much the worst tutorial I have ever seen. You can just search through their webpages by changing the html page number. Example.com/-h1.tm

@sarlaz wrote:Can you please share the code you used with me? I can't figure out Marc's at all and I really love yours!

Thanks sarlaz!

And this is my code :

Code:
<script>
function checkform(form)
{
if (form.pass.value != "abc" )
{
alert('You have entered wrong Password! Please try again!');
return false;
}
}

</script>

<br><br><br><div align="center">
<form method="post" onsubmit="return checkform(this);" name="password" action="http://khoahoctunhien.2forum.biz/">

<label><input value="Enter Password" name="pass" onclick="if (this.value == 'Enter Password') this.value = '';" onblur="if (this.value == '') this.value = 'Enter Password';" type="text"></label>
<br>
<br>
<b>Please enter the Password to login!</b><br>
<b>(Pass : abc)</b>

<br>
<br><div align="center"><input name="ok" value="Enter!" type="submit">

</div>

</form>

Make a new HTML page with these code.

You can edit something here :

<form method="post" onsubmit="return checkform(this);" name="password" action="YOUR-LINK-HERE">

And here :

<script>
function checkform(form)
{
if (form.pass.value != "YOUR-PASS" )
{
alert('You have entered wrong Password! Please try again!');
return false;
}
}

</script>

That's all!

Have fun!
