Re: stopping animated avatars?
you could probably do that ...
i think the animated pictures are available in png and other formats .. not jpg
so you could dis allow the png formats as avatars ... but i doubt its avaible on forumotion .
if im not mistakn ,there are a few phpbb mods that allow you to resixe the images sixe in the post box
but you cand add them on forumotion
anyways.. what do you care about the animated avatars ?
if you dont like their avatar you can just ask them to reset their avatars ,
or ban them .......
and even if their avatars are having a huge space you shouldnt care ,because you dont pay anything for the bandwidth ....
so use all the resources at maximum lol !

Re: stopping animated avatars?
Well i am with Thekiller on this one.
If you dont want animated avatars then just make it a rule they are not allowed and go delete remove members that may have them, or pm them and ask them to remove it.
Then if they keep breaking your rules just give them a warning or possible banishment..
as far as the chat box. the only way i see this happening is if you was to disable bbcode. but then it would not work for the whole forum.
So you can just make a rule for the cheat box to, or use a different chat box that will not allow images such as xat.
