Permissions and auto-body fill

Post by black_pearlca on February 6th 2011, 6:54 pm

Here's what's going on... I set up a forum for a clan I'm in, and there's the "welcome" section where new recruits can apply to be part of the clan.

I have 3 group. Administrators, Moderators, and Clan Members. When a new person signs up on the site, they will have access to only the "Welcome" category - and from there, they can post their application to the clan. However, my problem is, I'd like to have it set up so that regular members can see/post in the welcome forum, but the "Clan Member" people can't see it. The way it's set up now, if a regular member can see it, then every rank above that can see it - the permission checkboxes are greyed out. Is there any fix to this?

Next question. When a new member goes to submit their application by clicking "New Thread", is there a way to have the body auto-filled with application questions?

Thanks

You will need to make groups and give permissions. Must go to advanced permissions.

There isn't away to make a topic fill out questions. You can do is make a topic and make an application and it sends to your email.

You have the option to create auto groups but the thing is once the member is in the group they will always be in it even if you remove them.

Sorry about the link. Not sure what happened. Here the correct link http://jot form.com (Without the space)

When you create a form you can add the code to a topic. Then they will answer questions and once they submit it will be sent to your email that you set up with.
