Turn off Edit privalage for moderators?
Hi,
I've done this a couple of times:
I go to quote someone in my forum and accidentally hit the edit button and erase someones post and put my own reply in there.
My moderator has done this by accident too. Bad news.
Is there anyway to:
a) Turn off the editing privalage for all mods and admins. But still be recognised as staff.
b) Get back the members post thats been accidentally erased
c) If this isn't possible then can I move the edit button?
Thanks in advance for any help.

a) If you just show them as a staff member ( No Mod Or Admin Control ) , than simply remove their Users Id from Group & just assign them a special rank, By this way they won,t be able to edit any post but Seems to be Admin Or Mod for your forum. ( Mod or Admin would be written below their User Id. )
b) I think for this you have to use Forumotion Utilities & use backup facility for your forum.
Here is the link for backup

Thanks Nomee. How about for me the admin? Can I get rid of that edit button? I really dont wanna make that mistake again.
I think there should be a message after you hit send saying "Are you sure you EDIT THIS POST"

Re: Turn off Edit privalage for moderators?
Well I don,t think that you can completely get rid from EDIT option, but why don,t you try this option
Just add your single user name in Admin Group & Also assign an Admin Rank to that id . After this whom you want to make a Co-Admin , just Assign a special Rank to him/her ( But not add in Admin Group ).
By this way, you would be only responsible for Editing your forum posts .
But After this all of your Admins & Moderators would be just Silent Forum Staff because they would not have any rights.
Well it,s up to you How you deal them
