Solved One forum stirring up trouble for another.

Post by Hillary.Reist on February 20th 2011, 7:04 am

Okay, so this is a hella long story, so I'll simplify.

A bunch of members left one forum because of reasons and decided to create their own forum.

A few months later, old forum finds out about new forum, and multiple members of the old forum log onto a (now banned)members account to spy on us, and is harassing new forum and sending illegitimate abuses.

I'm the Admin of the New forum, and I just want all of this to stop, so we can post in peace.

What do I do?

Hello Hello and welcome.

Hello Because you are new, here are useful links where you can look for answers :

Arrow General Rules
Arrow Frequently Asked Questions
Arrow Tricks & Tips
Arrow Forumotion TOS
Arrow Contact Typlo for a Domain Transfer Code/for other severe problems
Arrow Lost your Founder password?
Arrow Complaint against a forum
Arrow Maximum Security for your forums
Arrow Rescue tool/Back up tool for your forum
Arrow How to clear your cache
Arrow My forum was hacked, what to do?
Arrow Forumotion Limits

Hello,

Are they spamming your forum? To handle this kind of situation, I suggest you to hire more moderators to gaurd your forum, ban the members that spam and seems to be suspicious to your forum, and you don't need to worry about the reports if your forum doesn't violate any of the Forumotion TOS and your forum stays clean/without spam.

They aren't spamming our forum, it's all guests that are sending abuses.

I would hate for our board to be shut down over this stupid thing, ya know?

Hello,

The report are sent to your admin panel and not sent to Forumotion, so in other words, your forum won't be banned. Unless they report it to Forumotion but as I'd mentioned, you don't need to worry about it if your forum doesn't violate the TOS.
