Forum gets Redirected

Post by sgrew on March 1st 2011, 5:57 am

My forum,

http://forums.ipbc.org.au http://ipbc.forumotion.com/ Keeps getting redirected to http://forums.a7larab.net/ every few days and the personized domain name that i have setup keeps getting removed.

There has been no problems in the past as the forum has been running for over a year.

Why would it be doing this? It has to be on forumotions side of things as the domain name is getting removed?????? ...

Any help or Ideas will be greatly appreciated

Thanks....

Hi,

Does the issue only exist for you, or for your members as well?

Checked it all out, there does not seem to be any issues with the domain name setup.

As I mentioned it works fine for a day or so then gets removed from personalized domain section in cp.

Im having to manually set personalized domain name in cp daily.

I have just noticed this (see image)

1) Why would it be showing as www.forums.ipbc.org.au when its http://forums.ipbc.org.au, as the images in previous posts show thats how its setup in CP.

2) why would it show that personalized domain name is -16 days?
I didn't think you had to pay for the use of a domain name already owned by the user (me).

I own the domain name forums.ipbc.org.au purchased through Cove/ventraip
It was never purchased through forumotion

The Domain name I purchased from forumotion was www.ipbcforum.org which i never used, so yes that domain name has expired I deleted it last night, encase it was that preventing the other .org.au domain name linking correctly.

The domain name linked to the forum is current and still has a year before expiation.

What I don't get, is why it's saying it expired -16 days ago. Has that number gone down bud, or has it stayed at 16?

its only the address forums.ipbc.org.au that gets redirected after 24hrs,
the ipbc.forumotion.com address does not get redirected, does anyone know why this would be happening?

well the 16 day thing means it would expire in 16 days.

But i am getting to the forum fine and it is not redirecting for me, so dont understand whats going on?

it may have something to do with deleting the domain.. so if it's a domain issue you will have to message typlo because he is the only one that deals with domain issues.

But i do not have anything redirecting for me, i dont see any problems other then you deleting the domain before it expired?

well either case it will still expires in 14 days or how ever long it's been since you took that screen shot.
So if you want to keep the domain just renew it before it expires completely.

Since i have added that i will wait a little bit in case you have another question or follow up answer.
