Solved How to Move Forum Up?

Post by SuperstarDomain on March 6th 2011, 10:56 am

Hey, there is a large space between the menu and where my forum begins, and I can't seem to figure out how to move it up.
I made sure announcements and the home page message are disabled, but still there is a space. I'd like to move my forum up
as shown in the pic below:

Anyone know how? Thanks.

-Andrew

Hi,

That does seem like a larger space then necessary.
Could I ask the version of your forum please?

This might seem stupid, but I don't know where to find out what version it is.

Not stupid at all, were all at the same stage from one time to another Smile
Admin panel >> Display > Change a theme > Version.

Try adding this to your CSS code:

Code:
p {
    font-size: 1.1em;
    line-height: 1.3em;
    margin-bottom: 0.5em;
}

My CSS code? I looked around the admin panel, but couldn't find a CSS code editor.

You can find it by going to

1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. Display Tab
3. Colors (on the left, under Pictures and Colors)
4. CSS Stylesheet and paste the code there

Very Happy

Thank you, I added it in there and clicked submit, but it didn't do anything.

I don't think it's theme related, because even if I change to a different theme and back, it's like that no matter what.

Solved Re: How to Move Forum Up?

Post by SuperstarDomain on March 7th 2011, 6:30 am

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm new here, so I just finished reading all the guidelines.

Anyway, I got some more information that may help with this issue.

I added forum widgets on the right column and when I did that, I noticed that the space, which was completely blank, now looks like it's supposed to be a text field or category for something, except there is no text filled in. See Image below:

I checked all around the admin panel again to see if it could be something there, but no luck.

The only clue I have is that by using a tool for blocking ads, I found out that whatever it is,
it's under the <div class="module"> section of the code.
This made me check the modules tab of the admin panel more thoroughly, but I'm stumped.
The tool can also block half of it by blocking <div class="inner">.

Hope that helps, thanks.

EDIT: I solved it. It turns out i had ads enabled, I disabled them and it looks fine now.
