Domain Transfer Empty Re: Domain Transfer

Post by karishima March 13th 2011, 4:54 am

What a convoluted and unprofessional way to deal with domain-name transfer requests. I have read at least 5 other threads in which people need to be told to post twice before they can even contact this member who manually manages the process. Either domain-name owners are not researching the topic sufficiently, or your process is clumsy and unintuitive, or a combination of the two.

If this post seems like spam, this only enforces my point: I have to make two random posts before I can submit a domain-transfer request (and I figured making this criticism would be more useful than just asking 'how do u tranfer my domanis lulz' and then be told 'you must post twice TADA! Wink ').

You've made quite a sophisticated forum system, I'm sure you could write a simple PHP page where domain-name owners can submit requests for this type of service --or maybe you could even place that control in something as obvious as every forum's Admin Panel.

I may sound harsh but it's still better than sounding like an ape asking you something that's been answered before: groar (by the way, is that an ape? I'm not entirely sure!)

Domain Transfer Empty Re: Domain Transfer

Post by karishima March 13th 2011, 4:57 am

And you know what's worse? When you say:
'You need to make 2 posts! Wink '
'But now you're banned for double-posting! Hello '

Utter madness.

EDIT --or worse: Flood control is active on this forum, please wait 45 second(s) before replying or posting. Because us web developers who need our domains transferred have all the time in the world.

May I remind you that double/triple posting isn't tolerated unless separated by 24 hours (Use the edit button) Wink

You will only get banned if you're not following the general rules, instead of double posting, why not just post on separated threads? examples are on member introduction thread on the GD, and there are more topics to be posted on the GD.

Domain Transfer Empty Re: Domain Transfer

Post by MrMario March 13th 2011, 5:54 am

karishima, we turned this option for a couple of reasons. One: People where spamming users via PM without posting. Two: PM spammers will need to post first, in this case we have their IP. We will ban their IP if that happens.

If you don't like that then blame that on the spammers. If you don't like it well that's too bad. Its not going away. End of story.

Seeing you are a new person just trying to cause problems here, you will not last long here if that continues to happen.
