Norton Says is a Malicious Website

Post by t2smith on March 15th 2011, 9:55 pm

One of our users clicked on a link to one of our smileys and Norton blocked it and gave them the following message.

Malicious Web Site Blocked

You attempted to access:

This a known malicious web site. It is recommended that you do NOT visit this site. The detailed report explains the security risks on this site.

For your protection, this web site has been blocked. Visit Symantec to learn more about phishing and internet security.

The detailed report is at the following link.

Norton says there are 27 total threats on I scanned the blocked smiley from our site with Microsoft Security Essentials and it was clean. I scanned some of the smileys listed at the Norton site, and Microsoft Security Essentials found all of them to be infected. It looks like Norton has designated as a malicious site because of the 27 infected smileys that someone uploaded on their site.

Is there a way you can appeal to Norton to get off of their list so our users aren't worried that our smileys are infected?
