Solved Domain Question

On one of my forums my domain name is up in August. I just received in the mail a registration form from Domain Registry of America with my forum domain on it.. Is this something new, do we have to use them to renew our domains, is it mandatory to renew with them?
I purchased my domain through forumotion and would like to continue to renew it through forumotion.
Does anyone know anything about this and can advise.

You renew your Forumotion domain in the admin panel when it has 60 days left of expiring.
