Solved HTML Error

Post by Nuchiha101 March 28th 2011, 7:45 pm

I was using HTML testing something. I was planning on using a series of HTML pages instead of threads for my Forum, so I tried such, got 4 HTML pages. I was editing the FAQ part but when I hit submit I got this;

http://awesomescreenshot.com/059aapa0b

I logged out and back in, nothing. I also resynchorized my Forum incase it was out of date with something that another admin updated, nothing was updated, because there wasn't anything.

Is there a immediate solution for this?

When you say the FAQ part, do you mean the FAQ listing that is already there by default? Also, where are you editing the FAQ part in the administration panel?

It's a custom FAQ in a HTML page, it's for the series of HTML pages I was creating. I keep getting the error.

So you're making this all from scratch, correct?

Yes, I just deleted a page and re-submitted it. It works now.

Is there a maximum amount of HTML pages? I thought there was, but I don't know if 4 is the max because on other sites I had more than 10.

The limit is 500 HTML pages. More limits can be found here: https://help.forumotion.com/t1709-some-limits-of-forumotion-forum

I don't know why it didn't work for you earlier, but I'm glad to hear that it works now. Smile

Solved Re: HTML Error

Post by Nuchiha101 March 28th 2011, 8:20 pm

OK, I found out the problem... It isn't HTML, but the coding I put in. I can't find any errors is it something else?

btw afterwards this is solved I will probably remove the code. It was a store thing for a game.

Code:
<font size=25><center><b>F.A.Q</b></center></font size><br>
<br>
<center><font size=3><a href="link removed" target="_blank">Weapons</a>-<b>Weapons F.A.Q</b>-<a href="link removed" target="_blank">Fees</a>-<a href="link removed" target="_blank">Assault Rifles</a></font size></center><br>
<br>
<font size=1><b>Why H.T.M.L?</b><br>
Well, with HTML there is a much bigger word count limit, and more freedom for customization. Also, no one can post here, as it is HTML. Another bigger point, is that incase a moderator or moderator in training got mad they can't delete this.<br>
<br>
<b>What exactly is this?</b><br>
This is a F.A.Q, or Frequently Asked Questions, most of the times the questions aren't frequently asked, and are pre-made with answers to questions. The entire series is the production for weapons, there already is a production forum, but it is simply so massive it's better to use a series of HTML pages. If you still have questions contact a Administrator. <br>
<br>
<b>Why all the separate pages?</b><br>
So that it is much more organized for your convenience, and ours. It takes more work, and is a little harder to maintain, but it's much more organized and easier to use.<br>
<br>
<b>What is the thing that is under the big words? The thing that is like Weapons-FAQ-Fees-etc.?</b><br>
That is a table of contents, it's on every page of the Weapons series and allows you to quickly move to other pages.<br>
<br>
<b>What are fees?</b><br>
Fees are a little extra you pay to the country that the manufacturing plant is based at. You can request to buy from a nation by contacting them, it'll result in lower fee but probably require bulk orders. You can try to license the weapon and make it for a lower fee or no fee at all, but you must contact the country! Being in alliance or having allies can decrease or remove fees, if your ally is enemies with another country their fee may go up for you so be careful!<br>

You have the word buy. Please pick another word. Forumotion censored this work along with Porn, and sex.

MrMario is correct. An alternative to this would be to use the word "purchase". Wink

Oh, sorry didn't know that was censored. I usually say purchase but buy used less space so, but since it's censored I have to. No harm done really.

I'll change it, thank you for the help.
