Solved Forum ban issue

Post by dodgerturf April 5th 2011, 9:59 am

Hello forumotion admin,

This query is to notify you on a positive feature of you being misused.forumotion has strict policy against users using nude pics in the forum by banning it.but here is a problem that forum owners are facing.

A user can register and post nude pics and use the same as avatars, and report an abuse with an intension of getting the forum banned.and it does get banned in a matters of hours(under 8-10 hours) without even a notification to the admin.

this has happened twice in my friend's forum and they are helpless about it.

what is the remedy to this setback?its sad to know that after putting in so much months of effort an time to build up the forum,a user can just come by and take it down in a matter of hours(6 hours)

Lets make things clear. I am 100% sure forums are never taken down after seeing just one picture or 5 pictures.

Now, if a forum has a section called Adult Movies/Pics, thats when the intention of the forum is obvious & thats when the Forum is deleted without a warning.

So if you have a general Discussion Forum, supposedly you have a thread named Chit Chat. If that thread has adult pics/videos posted the intentions are clear someone has spammed.

So now you know the difference?

Previously this was exactly how thought it worked.but in this case therebwas no such sections or areas.the forum owners knew the t.o.s and they were managing a 5000+ members' forum until this user comes up and got it banned.they created a new forum and it was just 4 days old with sections/areas of a mobile im and mobile apps.today morning, this user was back with nude dp and signatures spamming the forum and the admin banned him,but the forum was off again

They can contest the decision. I am sure, thats not the case as you make it out to be.

See, whats the use for forumotion to ban a normal forum which gives them revenue from a 5000+ member forum?

Well the decision to spend credits rests upon you completely. Definitely paid hosts give you the freedom, but its upto you which host you choose.
