Change IP Address

Post by TechGeek on April 13th 2011, 3:17 am

Hello, I have purchased my domain www.repairbotsonline.com/ from you via forumotion.com. I have built my website on Weebly.com. I need you to point my domain to the following IP: 199.34.228.100.

This is done by changing my domain's A-Records. I am not requesting that you transfer my domain, redirect my domain, or change my name servers. I want to remain with you as my domain registrar. For more detailed information, please see http://support.weebly.com/support/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=4.

Thank you for your time and help in this matter.

I apologize for not including this earlier but, I would like to be able to keep the free forum once the domain has been transferred. What I mean is, revert back to www.repairbotsonline.forumotion.com. I also realize, after searching, that I must pm typlo but, as the rules require, I need atleast 3 post to send a pm. HELP with a reply please...

Edit: PM sent to typlo.

I apologize for the double posting. I am trying to provide all the required information to typlo in a pm but, one of the requirements is to provide "G. The forum foundation email address". I have no idea what that is. Can you please help?
Thanks in advance.

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. It's been over a month since my initial request to transfer my domain name. I have sent 4 pms to Typlo counting the one I will send now.

With all due respect, I paid for the domain name and it therefore belongs to me. It is being held hostage by forumotion as a result of your failure fulfill my request. Please take the necessary steps to ensure this matter is corrected immediately.

Regards.

No offense geek but you're the one who signed it up with forumotion, if they're busy they can't exactly do anything about it. And I dont think that they can transfer it to weebly anyway, I think you'd have to do that.

ps.. have you checked your inbox isnt full? Typhlo might have responded

Thank you for the reply and no offense to you as well but, the instructions on the procedure to change the domain states the request will be fulfilled within 72 hours. While I realize that may not always be possible, there is no excuse for the process not being fulfilled after a months time.

Yes, I did sign up for forumotion. I done so under the terms and agreement setforth by the creators of the same which stated I could transfer my domain at any time. I am expected to fulfill my end of the agreement and expect no less from forumotion.

According to weebly, as well as, the instructions for changing the domain here, I am not able to do it. It must be done by forumotion. This information could be wrong. I am simply going on what I was informed.

With respect to them being busy, that is the same excuse that everyone with a domain transfer request is being told. I am not the only one who is having problems with this. I understand busy. However, I find it difficult to believe that anyone is so busy that a request such as mine could not be filled after a months time. There are a few members who have been waiting longer than a month. I will let them divulge their identities in open forum should they choose. I will not however.

PS. I have checked the inbox regularly.

Thanks for your reply but, I, like numerous other members asking for domain transfers, am of the opinion typlo doesn't exist. If I do not get a reply in the coming week I intend to contact Domains by Proxy, Inc who is registar of the domain through GoDaddy.com

For anyone else requesting a domain change and not getting a reply, the information below may be of use. You will need to use Whois for your particular domain. You can file an official complaint with either of these companies if they are affiliated with your domain. I was told by one of the contacts below to give it until the upcoming week.

Your reply demonstrates your age. Domains by Proxy is the registar of my domain. Forumotion are the ones who chose GoDaddy who uses Domains by Proxy. So, you really have no idea what you are talking about.

I chose to use my credits with Forumotion because they were MY credits. I really see no purpose to your reply. It certainly doesn't offer any useful information. Just a post to a topic in which you have no vested interest or concern. Apparently you did not do any research prior to posting. The terms of use setforth by Forumotion states I am free to transfer my domain at any time and that such change will execute within 72 hours. There are many others wanting a domain transfer some of which have been waiting over 2 months. So, being busy isn't cutting it anymore.

I did read the rules and do not know why I can't transfer.

"2. For paid domain names, you need to wait 3 months after purchase."

I paid for my domain 10 months ago. Please explain..

Well, I would not argue and try to start something for 1 thing. You will need that have your forum for 3 months weather you paid for your domain 10 months ago. Just wait for 3 months since the date your forum was created. Wink

Are you serious? Did you even read the prior post on this topic? If I paid for my domain 10 months ago from forumotion then obviously I have had my forum for more than 3 months. I have had my forum for 1 year.

Secondly, I'm not arguing or starting anything. I want what was agreed upon when I purchased my domain to be fulfilled. That's all!

Future posters to this topic: Please post something useful, informative and most of all relative.

Your domain name wasn't actually paid, but offered to you by Forumotion.
Please check in your admin panel, your credits were never spent.

Thanks for the explanation. I was unaware the domain name was "offered" by FM.

While I perceive the offered domain as a kind gesture and I appreciate the same, I also believe I should have been given the choice to accept the "offered" domain or continue with the purchase of the domain.

In any event, I will wait the required time period and resubmit my request.
