Forum restore
My forum was deleted by mistake.
I have been trying to restore it using: http://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/ but it didn't seem to work.
I do have the original email address and original password from when the board was founded, however the email address was deleted so I have no access to the email account itself.
How do I go about restoring the forum?
Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Forum restore
I do not think it is possible. I think that "restore forum" just restores the forum to the settings you had. Not the forum itself.@paf wrote:My forum was deleted by mistake.

Re: Forum restore
Thank you for your fast reply.
I have read various threads on this topic and am confused as to whether it is possible or not. In some posts it sounds as if it is indeed possible, in others there are mixed messages.

@MrMario wrote:You can contact Typlo on Monday and ask to restore the forum.
Thank you very much, I will try that.
Is it OK to send a PM or is there another way I should preferably contact Typlo?

Re: Forum restore
The only method would be to PM Typlo. But please wait until Monday because he doesn't work on weekends.

Thank you, Base.
I sent a PM to Typlo early this morning and will return to here and post when I know what the outcome is. I am keeping my fingers crossed

Re: Forum restore
I am encountering a new problem. The admin password does not work.
Also, and this is more serious: the banner commercials shown on the forum changes for moments into different "banner commercials" with hugely marked words such as "PLAY" or "DOWNLOAD". My virus protection blocks the sites that these links to, advising that they contain malware, trojans, etc.
Has my forum been hacked?
The fake banner commercials do not appear at all times, it requires log-in attempt or posting to the forums.
Please do advise on what to do - also please escalate this issue to immediate attention - the forum loses all credibility if someone downloads virus infected files from there. Since I can't log in as admin, I can't pay to have the banner commercials removed either - which I used to do.

Password doesn't work? Tried entering the password by one by one instead of copy and paste?
Please don’t double and or triple post. Post need to be separated by 24 hours before bumping, replying or adding more information. Please use the edit button.
Its just ad's. If you want it gone, you must pay to remove them.

Re: Forum restore
Thank you, MrMario, I appreciate the speedy reply.
I have tried to type it in by hand, I have tried copy/paste, I have tried typing into notepad and then copy/paste to ensure correct spelling. It does not work.
In order to pay which I normally do and have so far, I have to access the ACP - which I can't as my password does not work. Besides, I am not talking about the regular banner commercials, there is no problem with those. The normal banner commercials change for a short while into different banner commercials (I have not been able to catch a screen shot of it yet) that simply seem to have nothing to do with the usual banner commercials, and those give the AVP alert. Normal banner commercials should not give AVP alerts, should they?
Thank you very much for your time.
