How do you make sections in a forum?
Hey there,
I'm fairly new to forum'ing and I have a question.
In every forum, you have different sections.
i.e https://help.forumotion.com/f45-manage-the-appearance-of-your-forum
If you look, you can see a section that says: Warning & Read it
And then another section that reads: Topics
For some reason, I'm having trouble making sections like it. All my topics appear to be in one section.
Help please?

Re: How do you make sections in a forum?
Hi, your title not being specific and therefore not facilitating research via the search option, I'm not answering (nor is any other member ) until you change your title to a more specific one, related to your problem |
Why do we ask explicit titles?:
The forum's search engine bases its research on keywords found in topic titles.
When you do a research, do you use "help", "urgent", "problem", "SOS" or "question" as keywords to look for topics about your problem/question?
Certainly not! So this is why it is important to use titles related to your problem/question. Doing this makes the researches much easier for visitors who use the search engine to get an answer to their question.
Thanks for your understanding.

Re: How do you make sections in a forum?
Sadly, my PC seems to be the only one in the world that can't take a screenshot.
My link is here: http://nations-order.betaboard.net/
What I'm trying to do is divide up my forum into categories, but when I try to do it on my Administrator Panel, it doesn't work.
I want:
Alliance Information
Diplomatic Office
New Nation's Hall All in one Section.
And then I'd like to have
Spam Station
Archive Room In another.
I'm trying really hard to type what my question is... It's hard to type it rather then show it. I'm trying my best.

Re: How do you make sections in a forum?
Your section basically means categories.

I've done that.
I've noticed there was something called a basket.
I want something like that.
All I did was add on to the section in which I have started. That's not what I want.

Re: How do you make sections in a forum?
Hi, you want to separate stickies and announcements from the normal topics, right? If so, then please go to:
1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. General Tab
3. Configuration (on the left, under Messages and e-mails)
4. Select "Separate announcements and stickies from the messages : With a table"
Regards,
Base

Re: How do you make sections in a forum?
Alright, here is an example of what I want.
http://forums.erepublik.co.uk/index.php
As you can see, there is a 'General Area,' full of:
General
Suggestions
Non-eRepublik Discussion
There is also another section titled, 'Official eUK forums.'
In which you have:
Citizenship Applications
Public Disscusion
That forum is divided up into its own blue tab. With my forum http://nations-order.betaboard.net/ , it is all in one blue-ish tab... When what I want to do is divide it up.
