Primary DNS & Secondary DNS?

Hi,

The domain name provider i've bought a domain name from, insisted that he'd need both the Primary DNS & Secondary DNS in order to point the said domain name to the forum i've just created.

Having read through the FAQ on changing to personalised domain name, the CNAME method is kind of foreign to the Support guy from the domain name provider.

So how do i get the Primary & Secondary DNS for my forum? Any help please?

The DNS we use are NS1.FORUMOTION.COM and NS2.FORUMOTION.COM

You can even do a whois check up it tells you what the serversur called

Haha, i have no idea on how to do a whois checkup and i tried doing it via some website, which returned results that looked gibberish to me.

i'm not one of those who can understand codes and commands. lol. That's the reason forumotion is what i'm using to create a forum. it's simple as point and click. Anyway the Support guy hasn't come back to me yet so i'm crossing my fingers.

I thought DNS are similar to IP address, that is, in numbers?

I can only assigned DNS to the domain name as per given DNS.

If you want to have CNAME to be pointed to, first the domain need to run on a hosting only then we can do domain pointing based on CNAME the URL given.

well it doesnt seem that way from forumotion's "Configuration of an external domain name." Kinda contradicting no? Any advice?
