Tapatalk support

Post by larsn84 on April 30th 2011, 6:17 am

I think it would be a great idea if Tapatalk would be supported

We have som users already requesting this, and it is quite simple to set up.

http://www.tapatalk.com/plugin.php

Unfortunately you have to be able to copy some data to the root of your server, and we don't have this access at the moment. So if it would be possible to make some kind of upload function for this on the admin-panel, that would be great.

It doesn't take up much space, but it is inevitable Smile

Cant even be added. Why? This site has coding which isn't tap talk support. Would be nice in the future to use the search feature.

Isn't it written in PHPbb3.0

That is supported by Tapatalk?... the only thing I see as missing, is the ability to copy the tapatalk files to the root of the server index. They are loaded, when opening the forum via Tapatalk

phpBB - Installation

Place the zip package at the root of your forum system.
Unzip the package. You should see a directory called "mobiquo" inside your forum system root directory. For example, if your forum URL is http://www.mysite.com/forum, it should be placed at http://www.mysite.com/forum/mobiquo/.
Edit the file /<phpBB3_root>/styles/{YOUR_STYLE}/template/overall_footer.html
Search in this file:

</body>
</html>
Insert the following line above them

<script type="text/javascript" src="mobiquo/tapatalkdetect.js"></script>
Purge the forum cache by logging in to the administration panel, find "Resynchronize or reset statistics" in the "General" section, click "Purge the cache".
Continue to next step

Hi,

Yes, we run a copy of PHPBB3, however its a heavily modified PHPBB2.

Our base code is PHPBB2, hence why were still running PHPBB2, and our updates are buggy at first.
This cannot happen until the techs update the base/server side coding to this millennium's phpbb3, or possibly, phpbb4, whenever that is released?
