About the Ads

Hi,

I want to ask about the ads in the forum. There's an option in the admin panel to deactivate the ads for members (General->configuration->activate ads for guest only) and there's also the option in credits management where you can deactivate ads for members by spending credits.

So what exactly is the difference of the two? If there's a free way to deactivate it, why should I spend credits then? Or is there more benefits when deactivating through spending credits?

I'm guessing it's the ads in when I clicked a link(Mediafire for example), takes me to ad page for a few seconds before going to the desired link. Will that be deactivated as well when I spend credits to remove ads?

Hi, the option to only activate ads for guests have now been removed for any new forums that have been created after October 2010 I believe. From now on, the only way to remove ads is to purchase credits.

So another question, is there any way to disable the ad page when a download link for example is clicked? The Adf.ly one? Before it wasn't there, but it's now there. xD
