Solved Where to put code so it is in body tags?

Post by LGforum on May 9th 2011, 5:04 pm

Okay so i have a code, and it needs to be placed within the <body> tags.
Not actually IN the tag, i just mean somewhere between <body> and </body>

So where would i put it?

Thanks

Is this a module you coded?

If so, you just need to copy and paste the code into the module itself. There isn't any real need for the body tag within modules.

If not, where are you wanting the code? You may be able to put it into the homepage message (if you want it there). Admin panel -> Display -> Generalities.

No i don't think you understand me fully.

I have a script, a javascript. And it needs to be placed anywhere within the forums body.
So where in the admin panel would i use the code, if i made it a widget, would it be within the forums body tags? If i made it an announcement would it be within the body tags? and so on... where would i put it?

Try putting it into the Homepage message and see if that works.

Admin panel -> Display -> Generalities

But, technically anywhere you put should work.

You will have to create a new html body to use it for phpbb3.
If you was using phpbb2 or punbb then it would go in the overall footer.

try this.
Admin panel>general>messages and emails>announcements

be sure to have the setting to show on all pages, and do not activate scroll.

Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
</head>

<body>

your content here

</body>
</html>
