Post by Wiky May 13th 2011, 12:42 am

Okay so I was wondering and I have search the forum to see anything about this but I haven't read anything about it. Any way I was wondering is it possible to have a code in the welcoming pm say the newest user register. If there is can you please post it.

You can use the variable {-FORUMLASTUSER-} (no dashes of course!)

BUT I wouldn't recommend using it a welcome PM because it literally will show the last member that joined...and that might not be the new member that is reading the PM at that time! For example you have 5 new members today, they join 12345 ... but they read their emails 23154 and they all read it after the 5th person has joined...they will ALL see the 5th persons name!

I use it in a post http://www.babiesandall.com/t10397-welcome-to-our-newest-member and it works fine because its not actually directed at the individual, more of a gimmicky thing really and to point them in the right direction. It wouldn't be the end of the world if that showed the wrong name, as the person will just think someone else joined after me...but you would think it very odd to have another members name on a PM.
