Activity level

Post by Leaf on May 19th 2011, 9:03 pm

About a year ago, I created my forum. It was very active and getting more and more active by the day. Suddenly, my other forum administrator was called into service. Ever since he has left, the forum has got more and more inactive. Now, It is completely inactive with the exception of me and the lead moderator signing in every other day or so.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for helping me make my forum active again.

Thank you!

that will just help them to get members not more activity.

the best way is to keep contests and more fun stuff and go into their profiles and check the active thing to active instead of user is inactive

Every single user is inactive. Not including me and my head moderator

Wow! I'm so sorry to hear about your forum. I'm going to give just a few suggestions that may help.

Treat your forum as if it were brand new, whatever is was that got the site notice in the first place, try to put that back out, spruce it up a bit and then send out a newsletter to all members.

Once they see that there is still some life in the forum, this might peek their curiosity to engage again.
Try to spruce up your site as well, maybe a new layout, or just new colors.

Also visit others sites and place a siggy (if they allow it) with your site link embedded in it. A lot of sites that I visit I view because I've came across them in others siggys.

Also, make banners, small ones and ask other forum owners if they will ad them for you.
(this only helps if you ask to have your banner placed on other forums of similar interest.)

Just a few suggestions and I wish you the best in recovering your site!! Smile

oh so then email all the users that your forum is back all the mods are back etc and make sure that your forum still looks attractive so that when they come back they dont just say "ugh this forum looks to old, ugly etc"

thats to get more members not get his forum more active by the members already on the FORUM

but if he advertises the mods will ban them, but if he becomes all the good posters friends and asks them to join then they will because they know them

well ok just make new on the forum like there are shops or VIP membership so the members will become more active and if you really wanted to make your forum active advertise in other site you will have plenty of members that will come. Smile

My forum has around 500-600 members, 30 of which used to be active constantly. Ever since the other admin went into service, its slowly activity has slowly died. I'm thinking about shutting the forum down....
