Solved Homepage complete, but how do I make it work?

Post by PlatinumWata on May 25th 2011, 1:26 am

I paid a designer to design me a homepage. We are now complete with the homepage, and we are trying to find a way to make it work. Normally, on another host you upload the files and all that, and it lets you.

However, with Forumotion you have to copy and paste HTML. However, what about the folders with images, and content.html, and all that? What do you do with that?

Basically, he has all the folders and all the stuff he needs for the homepage, however we don't understood how to make it go in the copy and paste box when you can't upload files on the host. Please explain in detail what to do.

Thanks.

You are going to need to host the images to photobucket, tinypic etc....
Not much you can do for the files.

Alright, I can do that. (as for Photobucket, and that)

However, don't I need the files for it to work?

You upload them the same way you upload a screenshot or any other image. You will need to make the images html codes.

Not really sure about the files because you can't host them on Forumotion or use them.

Hi,

You should simply host files at a hosting website, and link it to them, for example, a JS file <script type="javascript/text" src="http://linktomyfile.com">
Smile

Images should work, feel free to press the preview button as many times as you wish Wink

Get him to upload it to a file ending in ".js" rather than ".PNG" their 2 different formats; .js is a script, .png is an image Wink
