What the hell are you going on about? What admin would upload a mod with viruses to his/her own site?

Re: Mod Installer
Forumotion should have professionals techs if a virus can penetrate their system so easily, I doubt they would exist till today.
And yeah what kind of admin would upload a virus to their own site?

Re: Mod Installer
dont ask me but i do think there some good suggestions that could make forumotion better.

Re: Mod Installer
But spook look at it this way...
if the techies create a modding directory for forumotion, and give the ability to mod yourself then this would totally eliminate the suggestions forum... cos any mods would be found on phpbb.com... ofcourse forumotion wouldn't be responsible for the mods...
virus or not ... legal or ...well yeah... illegal will get deleted , working or not, forumotion won't be responsible for any damage or support. Cos if these mods would be used from phpbb.com then thats the place for questions.
So summing up ... forumotion wouldn't need to create any new updates if this is established.
Everybody would load there mods according to liking.
Forumotion wouldn't be held responsible for anything.
But ... Its not going to happen. Even though its a good idea, i think forumotion is trying to be more independant ... adding mods from phpbb.com is basically making yourself dependant on how and what phpbb.com techies think of.
our techies are trying to implement the best updates and mods their own way... building from scratch.

Re: Mod Installer
building for scratch?
UHM no. They do start with the phpbb code and twist it to work for forumotion.
This would be a pay feature, and it would be a lot less work for the tech. Hell, go ahead and load up your forums, if yoou blow up your site dont come crying to us.

Well, your forums are backed up everyday, so any damage could be reversed.

Re: Mod Installer
If I'm not wrong freeforums has a mod installer capability.
I really want this feature... Unless forumotion can promise more features and updates, this feature wouldn't be necessary.

Re: Mod Installer

Re: Mod Installer
I don't agreed with having a mod installer due to scammers and hackers these days but if there could be a way to allow atleast "1" FTP account per forumotion forum admin or "owner" to install mods of his/her choice
