Copyright related issues Empty Copyright related issues

I don't know where this belongs, but I just would like to know if this is okay. (Sorry if it is in the wrong section.)

I recently made a forum for the website "Funnyjunk.com" I'm NOT in any way trying to steal the name, but Funnyjunk has no forum of any sort, so I decided to make my own for it. I've recently received an abuse note about a "Copyright Infringement." It said I stole the name of Funnyjunk, which is copyrighted, and changed the domain name, but says I still am copyrighting the name.

I decided to ask the Administrator/owner of Funnyjunk, with his permission, if it was okay if I made a forum for his website Funnyjunk. He said it was fine, but just as long as I don't have "Funnyjunk" in the domain title.

Well since I've received proper permission from the owner of Funnyjunk to make a forum about his website, would my forum still be deleted anyways? The forum is just to discuss stuff related to the website and some off topic forums.

Am I still invading the copyright infringement if I got proper permission from an owner that I can make a forum about his website?

I really need to know.

Well if you have a proper written permission from the same, display it on your forums. Wherein its properly visible for everyone. I think, then your forum should not be deleted.

However, there is always a risk of of false litigation's being filed with forumotion which can cause problems.

Did the owner of Funnyjunk give you permission to use their images and name?

Yes, he said it's okay to make a forum about Funnyjunk. He said that if copyright would get in the way that I would just have to initial "FJ" in the domain or site title. I'm not using the same direct images on funnyjunk itself, I'm having a graphic designer make them for me.

Is there a way for the admin of funnyjunk to clear the abuse note my forum received?

Do you think I should put the copyright symbol for funnyjunk on my forum somewhere? If so then where?

See, no matter where you put it. There is bound to be confusion. There is no 100% solution to this.

Should I include a screencap that the owner of Funnyjunk gave me permission?

brandon_g said I should make a thread and global announcement (I might just sticky it) and include how I received permission, are you telling me that is not enough?

Is there a certain Forumotion staff member who deals with this kind of stuff who I can contact about this?

I said its not a foolproof security measure. Problems can arise sometime or the other.

There is no such forumotion staff member who deals with anything of this sort related to licensing.
