Making a user inactive

User is active : Yes No Banned
I am thinking of making a user account inactive, the member has (quite openly) made a new account & says he doesn't want to use the old one. I definitely don't want him using two accounts if he changes his mind, so I was thinking of ticking the User is active no button. what exactly does this do?
Thanks

Hi,
If you make him inactive he wont be able to login ( msg = You've specified incorrect password or inactive account) with that account until you activate it again.

Thanks for your quick reply Nera. It sounds as if that's exactly what I want.
