Solved Breach of Terms of Service

Post by Smokin Mils June 6th 2011, 9:50 pm

I got a message in my admin panel saying

"Dear "www.smokinelite.com" forum administrator(s), it appears that your forum doesn't respect our Terms of service. Our service is free, so we are urged to only display legal content on the forums.

You have have until the 13-06-2011 to be in conformity. After this delay, we will have to delete your forum if it still isn't in conformity."

The problem is, I have no idea how we are not respecting the terms of service. I have some ideas of what it could possibly be but I can't be sure those are the problems, and I don't want to risk my forum being deleted.

Is there no way I could be informed of what is breaching the ToS so that I can remove it before my forum is deleted? We are a fairly large forum with over 26,000 registered members and a million pageviews a month.

Well I guess it's something to do with the Mature section on your forum. I suggest you remove that section completely and also to read the TOS to see what else there is that could be wrong with your forum.

It's strange, I don't remember ever removing the links.

I just spent 6148 credits to remove the copyright link for 12 months. Will this sort out the problem?

Otherwise I'll have to add the footer links again, but I'm not even sure what code to insert.

You need to insert link for phpbb and link of forumotion, cause forumotion is the host of forum and phpbb gave you the software

well if you pay to have the footer removed then it's not a violation because you paid to remove it? it will tell you in the spent credits options and so fourth what you paid for and if it took effect or not.

Other then that i would just go through your forum and make sure there is no inappropriate content or any illegal file sharing going on.

Actually, if you've paid to remove your footer links then by law the 'phpBB' should still be there. However, the Forumotion links do not. Wink

Below is my overall_footer code. As far as I know nothing has been removed from it. The parts that I've added to it I posted below the code.

Could someone please give me the code I need to add? I really just want to sort this out so I don't need to stress about my forum being deleted.

Code:
