"Dear "www.rpgmakerid.com" forum administrator(s), it appears that your forum doesn't respect our Terms of service. Our service is free, so we are urged to only display legal content on the forums.

You have have until the 20-06-2011 to be in conformity. After this delay, we will have to delete your forum if it still isn't in conformity."

Screenshot:

Is my forum violating forumotion TOS? If so, what has been breached by my forum?
Forumotion did not tell what has been breached by my forum.

Here's my forum: http://www.rpgmakerid.com/

Thnx.

Hello everyone, if you have removed all of the content which may be disrespecting the terms of service then on the 20th, your forum should be fine. Just to be safe, take one more look at the TOS and go through your forum thoroughly: https://www.forumotion.com/en/create-forum/terms-of-service.htm

Deal all,
I am a member of www.rpgmakerid.com as well.

We know that we must remove content which might disrespecting the terms of service. But, without giving specific / detail, we cannot ensure the main disrespecting content based on the forumotions litigation team's view.

Oh by the way... May we know where or how to contact the forumotions litigation team which think our forum is disrespecting the terms of service so we can ask them for the detail?

Thank you. Smile

We are currently looking for anything in our forum that may violate Forumotion's terms of service. But without any clue whatsoever, it's very difficult to do as our forum has grown to a quite large size. How can you accuse us of violating the terms of service without giving any evidence? That's just very unprofessional of Forumotion. We will be extremely disappointed in Forumotion if our forum really get closed without even giving us a reason.

I'm sorry if my words are a bit harsh, it's just that we really love our forums and won't let it go.

Dear Bear,

I'm another user of rpgmakerid.com

we've checked and removed some of the links that might contain illegal contents. Like download links (which is not illgal in our opinion).

There are many links there leading to the Japanese and English forums and blogs which shares resources needed for us. It's free to use and we didnt think it's violating the Terms of Service.

There are many user's links too. But many of them is their own creation. Their own games, musics, arts, and there's no pornographic contents there.

But, if the onlineguardians or whoever finds those links has illegal contents, or anything that violating the TOS, just please let us know Smile

we loved this forum, we just want to make sure we've done the things right, and we dont want to wait until June 20th to make sure that we do something right for now.

What if we dont do something right? so the forum will be gone then Sad

Well, there's no need to panic if you guys have removed everything that may be against the TOS because by the time the day comes, the warning should be gone. However, if you fail to remove the offending content before the deadline then your forum would be banned.

I don't know personally what you guys have violated, but whatever it is, it's YOUR forum so you should know what has been posted that would be considered as inappropriate content. Smile

Our forums are also facing similar problems at www.wiratunggallegacy.com
and at the same time we also received a warning abuse.
It is very confusing for my head.
This incident never happened since the forum was opened three years ago. Mad

Dear Base,

I'm one of the "www.wiratunggallegacy.com" forum administrators. We have received same notification from the forumotion.com. It was reported that our forum doesn't respect your Terms of service. Actually, we have tried our best to follow the Forumotion's terms of service. We never expected that some of our topic have violate Forumotion's terms of service. Because we never think to do so.

I have noticed that you wrote as follow:

Base wrote:Hello everyone, if you have removed all of the content which may be disrespecting the terms of service then on the 20th, your forum should be fine. For your information we have strongly check for the conformity of our forum with your term of services. We hope it satisfy you.. Honestly, we don't know if there is still any item in the forum which threats the TOS. Because we have try our best, we have check every angel of the topic and fixed all the things. We do respect and appropriate forumotion.com because without it, we never made our forum as a reality today.

I also noted that we have until the 16-06-2011 to be in conformity. As you know, we have done so. We really hope that you will not banned or delete our forum. Please let us know specifically if there is any problems remain. I believe this problem can be solve nicely through respond from our site and your site… deleting and banned is not the way... because we are ready to talk, ready to change and follow your rules...thank you

This 'Anonymous' person is a spammer, please ban them on sight. They have spammed me personally, all you need to do is to delete their posts. I don't think you can have access to any details, but then again I am not completely sure of this. Like I said before, if you have nothing wrong on your forum then your forum should be fine.

Dear Base,
thanks for reply...

we do have take an action against the spammer. Just worry if we still will be banned or deleted. Because we already 3 years in this forum, we strictly follow your TOR. For you information, before we receive the notification from forumotion.com regarding this issue, we have ban one of the user in our forum which have violate Forumotion's TOR. Maybe the person feel not dissatisfied and try to sabotage and overthrow our forum by reporting to you that we have done the abuse and violate the TOS. This problem never happens before. But it happened after we ban the user.

Excuse me, yeah, that's right, I'm from www.rpgmakerid.com as you know it

First of all, I'm sorry that a lot of members from our forum showed up only to complaint, but heck, it's showed us how close our bond is, right? Lol

Okay then, to the point. Dear Support Moderator Base, we already understand that by "removing all of the content which may be disrespecting the terms of service then on the 20th, we'll be fine". I respect and am grateful for your concern, but at this point we don't really need to hear the same answer again.

The thing is, each person have different perception, so what we need to know right now is forummotion's and onlineguardian's perception of illegal content, since we, members of RMID, didn't found anything that violate the ToS.

And yes, we read the ToS.

Our definition of "wrong" is different than yours, what seems "wrong" for you might not seems "wrong" for us.
Therefore, we would really like to know, if you can, explicitly, show what was "wrong" with our forum, since we didn't really find anything "wrong". Well, at least, in my opinion.

And yes, we READ the ToS.

If you really couldn't, and by couldn't, couldn't because of the rules and regulations of the litigation team, meaning that even you moderators couldn't have access to the details, then I sincerely am sorry for forcing you to squeeze out the details, as you've already done your best to provide us support, living up to your rank, "support" moderator.
Thanks to you, we've read the ToS many times until we can even memorize the content of the ToS, for that, I thank you, you have done your job nicely.

You've done the right thing to ban the spammer, and of course if you have also made sure that nothing on your forum is against the TOS then your forum should be fine.

^ I appreciate the response, but I myself don't have access to the exact details of the litigation report so you wouldn't be able to squeeze anything out of me. Wink

I can understand all of you are trying your best to find out what is wrong, but if it helps, I've just been on your forum and I didn't notice anything that could be breaking the TOS. However, please make sure that there is absolutely none of the following:

=> Links to illegal downloads
=> Anything that can be considered inappropriate for a 13 year old
=> Images and content of a pornographic nature

Post by Penjejak Awan June 11th 2011, 7:14 pm

Dear all,

Problem is, the spammer(s) whom we might think are the ones responsible for the reports might not be the ones who made the reports. Because the problem with forumotion is that the reports don't give us the location of the reporters. In which made me accidentally banning two innocent members of my forum, after seeking some help and investigating the matter, it turns out that the banned members did not commit such behaviour.

It could be just a coincidence that after banning the members, the reports come in from other people and since there is no way to check who reported the abuse, we Admins assume that the banned members caused the issue.

My best advice is, observe your forum members (how they act in the forum by what they say in their posts), this is the best for us to judge the suspected members will be the ones doing the false reports or not. So now I have unbanned the two members and going to investigate further into the matter, since the people who made the wrongdoings are still on the loose.

Just a word from my experience as an Admin (for three websites).

Warmest regards,
Penjejak Awan aka Cloud
