Data Loss - Missing posts!

Hi,

There was a thread on my forum about a very sensitive subject with around 80 pages to it. I have logged on today to find a PM from the topic starter to enquire as to why loads of pages have been removed. I have checked the moderator log and nobody has deleted them so what has happened???!!!?!!!!!

Having searched, it seems the topic was automatically split one it reached 67 pages long. I didn't know that this would happen. So thankfully nothing has been lost. I can only imagine this is a forum feature? I attempted to re-merge the two threads but it wouldn't let me.

Yes, 990 posts is the limit of a thread. After which the thread splits & creates a new thread.

In addition, I would like to add that it is not possible to change this limit.
